Housing Grants Now Available in Utah
One of the biggest challenges most first-time home buyers face is coming up with a down payment.
Most people do not know about the housing grants offered by the state and federal governments. These grants help low-to-middle income families by providing down payment money.
Down payment housing grants in Utah range from $3,000 to $10,000 and are now available for:
First-time home buyers
Those who have not owned a home in the last 3 years
Those who have lost a home through divorce or disaster
Military personnel (active duty, reserves, National Guard or veterans)
Department of Defense employees
Homeland Security employees
These grants are not offered in all Utah cities and counties. Cities and counties that do offer grants do not always have money available.
It is important to act quickly when grants become available.
